Our Programs
The main focus of our organization continues to be Camp Wapiyapi. However, we are expanding our support of those dealing with childhood cancer.

Camp Wapiyapi
Hosted at a retreat near Estes Park, Colorado, our camps offer a safe environment in which families with childhood cancer can find hope, support and healing. By participating in a variety of group and individual activities, children learn that they do not face their challenges alone.

Camp Wapiyapi is a place where campers can make strong and lasting friendships. Each camper is paired with an adult volunteer companion with whom they can share a unique, one-on-one relationship. Campers also develop a deep camaraderie with the other children at Camp Wapiyapi. Through these bonds they are able to draw strength, courage, and peace.
All our activities at Camp Wapiyapi are designed to let the children have fun and feel like carefree kids again. More importantly, these activities are designed to help campers discover new things about themselves, boost their resolve, and give them a renewed sense of self-confidence.

Family Retreats
In 2008, Wapiyapi hosted its first family retreat program at the Easter Seals Rocky Mountain Village in Empire, Colorado. At these retreats, Wapiyapi brings together a number of families, including some who have only recently received a diagnosis and those much further along the path. These events provide much needed support in the form of information and understanding. Please request additional information via the contact information on the home page.

Young Adult Retreats
During the retreat we bring the young adult cancer community together to provide support, experiences, and reflection to young adult cancer survivors and their best friend or peer they consider to be their strongest support. We are inviting young adults ages 15-18 recently diagnosed with cancer as well as those that have dealt with pediatric cancer for many years. We hope that through these interactions, young adults will find comfort in meeting peers who are in similar stages of coping with cancer, as well as learning from others who have gone through this process and are on the road to recovery.
