Information for Parents

Caring Professionals

All of our companoins are carefully screened and matched with a child. Companions spend nearly every waking moment with their campers, providing guidance, support, and encouragement throughout the week.

Medical Care

Registered Nurses and Physicians are on site 24 hours a day. Many of these providers are specially trained in pediatric emergency care as well as oncology. Many Parents are apprehensive about leaving their children, particularly those who are very ill or fragile. Wapiyapi is committed to providing the highest level of medical and emotional care possible to insure the safety of your child. You can email Kristi Knuti, M.D. with questions about medical care.

Peace of Mind

For many parents, this week provides a well earned and much needed rest from the demands of functioning as a child's primary caretaker. An opportunity to regroup and reset can recharge both parent and child, strengthening the bond for another year's journey to recovery. You can email Marilyn Jordan for more parent questions.
