This is for you kids who have more to teach us about life in one week than we will likely learn in a lifetime...

• who have known pain beyond your understanding of it
• who are wise beyond your years and who have loved beyond all conditions.
• this is for you kids who just want to play to run and dance and fish and be able to fall
• without being looked at like you're breakable
• who just want to be normal and here
• who get to be who have heard all your lives that different is weird but you must know that different is beautiful
• this is for you with your wistful eyes, toothless smiles and glowing faces
• with your trips and falls and skinned knees and scars you should never hide
• this is for you kids for teaching us more about life than any of us will ever get from med school
• for teaching us that some things never change
• that life will always be unexpected and sometimes it will be hard
• that love will always heal and you will always persevere
• for teaching us that things are never as bad as they seem
• that there is always gold at the end of the rainbow  if you just look hard enough and that the sun always rises tomorrow
• this is for you kids for coming into our lives and leaving your mark
• for showing us things we've never seen
  touching us in ways we never thought possible
• and for giving us memories we'll never forget
• for giving us the opprotunity to be a part of your lives and for showing us truly what heroes look like
